Join us at the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC)

We are honored to invite attendees of the A Dream Deferred and the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) conferences to tour the new National Museum of African American History and Culture, the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It is thrilling to offer the opportunity for conference attendees to explore this national museum that has been a century in the making.

Attendees registered for the full conference are invited to a special evening event at the National Museum of African American History and Culture on Monday, March 20, from 7-10 p.m. Buses depart the hotel at 6:30 p.m., from the Marriott Wardman Park lobby front entrance. To be admitted, please wear your conference badge. Buses will return on the half hour throughout the event.

Experience the exhibits, art, and artifacts displayed throughout the five floors of galleries while considering American history through the lens of the African American experience.

This event is offered in lieu of a conference reception. No food will be available at the museum.

However, be sure to visit the Historically Black Colleges and Universities College Fair from 4:45-6 p.m. in the Thurgood Marshall Ballroom to learn more about these institutions and enjoy some light snacks.

*This event is open only to A Dream Deferred and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) attendees who have registered for the full conference. Attendees who acquired a one day registration are not permitted. No guests are allowed.
